          What is Document Camera?
A Document camera AKA Visual Presenter, docucams, digital visualizers, is video camera designed to capture real time video and either display it with a Projector, TV, Computer Monitor or save it through a video recorder or computer. Do you remember “Overhead Projectors”? You know that big light with a telescoping mirror that you English teacher used with transparency film to projector on to the screen in high school or college? Well this is the replacement for that that does so much more and doesn’t require any consumables like transparency film. Document cameras give you the ability to show 2D & 3D objects live during a presentation or videoconference without having to scan or take pictures and import them. Typically the Document cameras have a base with a flexible “Goose Neck” that attaches the camera but some are mounted to a stationary arm. If used with adapters the document cameras can also connect directly to microscopes or telescopes to show many people at one time what is being studied, very useful in Education environment and medical fields. Document cameras come in varying resolutions in both still images as well as video including HD (1920x1080 video resolution) and higher for stills.

          Sound systems
Sound systems can be as simple as a pair of computer speakers or as elaborate as Mic’d soundsystem with built-in wall speakers, wireless microphones and more. A key component of a good presentation, whether you are in a conference room, classroom or auditorium is that your audience can hear* you and your presentation.*Close captioning is a version on some projectors keep this in mind for hearing impaired.

          Control systems
Control systems, simply put are a remote control system (typically wall mounted) for automation (lights, screens, thermostat, etc) as well as control of the AV systems (projector, audio, etc). Ok yes it is a little more complicated than that but realistically that’s what it does, it’s not artificial intelligence or anything. It can only do what you program it to do. Now with that said it does make presenting and controlling your AV system much easier. With the correct system for your needs you or anyone can control turning on your projector, speaker volumes and much more from a handy bank of wall mounted or possibly even a wireless head unit with switches and buttons
