My Canon 3ti is an excellent digital SLR camera for the beginner and the Pro. This is my first digital SLR purchase, and I am enthusiastically pleased with it's performance. The picture quality is superb, and with an EOS to FD adapter, I am able to use my FD lenses in manual focus mode to take great pictures. After seeing the quality of my 3ti pictures, I sold my SLR film Canon AE1 camera. The Canon 3ti's large LCD display with it's swevel mount is excellent. I would recommend this camera as an excellent entry level digital SLR camera to the novice and to a professional photog.

As a long time user of the Rebel, I upgraded to the 18 MP T3i which is compatible with my lenses and flash. My confidence in the plastic housing from use of the Rebel for several years is high. My initial uses of the camera have been a pleasure. The larger screen and easy-to-adjust to changes in the menu structure have made it a smooth transition. The well constructed menu structure was a primary driver for me to purchase the Canon over the competition. The manual is well written. I've been in the digital process in industry for advertising for over 30 years and find the quality of the photographs to be superb.

I think it would be helpful, very much so to have, on the Canon website, a video class on how to use the camera, one that we could back up and rewind, and an actual demonstration of what each function does in the the operation of the camera, it could be self paced, People do not buy a camera of this quality, because one would ten to be intimidated by it's many features, but if one could take an on line , SELF PACED course, that would increase a comfort zone
