The 2 Port Flush Mount ExpressCard 54mm SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card Adapter uses a unique form factor design that allows it to sit fully in a standard 54mm laptop ExpressCard slot without sticking out. Rated 4 out of 5Â by Edmond SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card Adapter Good price to be able to add two USB 3.0 ports to a laptop. The design better fits the ExpressCard slot. Other adapters have horizontal play in the slot because of their straight design. This card is flush with the card slot, so it can be left in all the time. I have not been able to use both USB ports simultaneously on this or any USB 3.0 adapter which I have tried. This adapter supplies 5 v to the device. Other adapters require the use of a USB 2 port and a supplied power cable to power the attached device from the USB 3.0 port. This adapter provides a power cable in case any USB 3.0 device needs more than 5 volts and the devices lacks a power cable of its own. The USB 3.0 port is faster than the USB 2.0 port, but it is not as fast as I thought it would be. Included software adds the necessary drivers needed to use the card. February 8, 2012
