This version of the 8TB NDX-8d NAS with DATASTOR for Data Backup and Disaster Recovery comes in a 1U Rack Form Factor and comes with Shield client side data
deduplication software. The DATASTOR Shield Licenses
include a management console, a Windows server/virtual server and ten Windows desktops/laptops.
The Quantum NDX-8 Series NAS solves the problem of out of control backup data growth for the SMB. It is the first product to offer deduplication and 8TB of storage at a price point small businesses can afford. Offering best-in-class performance, it features enterprise-class hard drives, an Intel Core i3 (Sandy Bridge) processor and 4GB of RAM. Customer upgradable, it offers a
single free PCI-e slot, and RAM expansion capability.
DATASTOR Shield deduplication software is designed for data backup and disaster recovery in Windows Environments with integrated client-side deduplication. Data stored is reduced significantly allowing customers to keep two years of backups online or more while reducing network traffic by up to 90 percent because backup data is deduplicated before being sent over the
network. The Quantum DATASTOR Shield deduplication software is simple to use and manage right from the NDX-8d unit, performing agentless backup—there is no
software to install on clients being backed up.
