Rated 5 out of 5Â by Matikz Great Drive When the Other Guy Fails At this point I'm running two WD Black 1 TB drives in my main desktop, both have been replacements for Seagate 1 TB drives that crashed and burned shortly after they were purchased. So far these drives have been going strong for close to 3 years with no issues what so ever. These are fantastic drives and if I ever replace them with larger drives it's going to be WD Black again. I have had several of these and every time I upgrade to a higher capacity drive I save the old ones because they all still work! I bought a hard drive dock and keep them all on my desk to use as backup drives now. I have had only one drive fail since 1987(in 1987) when I built my first computer myself. I have had other brands, noteably ---gate, and m--tor, and every one of them has failed. There is a reason the Black drives have a guarantee, they are the best quality made. May 7, 2013
