In an ultra-thin, mobile package, the Zip 250 USB Powered drive meets the high-capacity storage requirements of PC and Mac users alike. At one inch thick and weighing slightly less than a pound, this drive can accompany the most demanding mobile computer user. It features a random access time of less than 50 ms, up to 900 KB/sec sustained transfer rate, up to 1.0 MB/sec burst transfer rate, and a typical throughput of up to 55 MB/min. In addition, it has an average start/stop time of 5-8 seconds. The long format time is just 8-10 seconds, while the short format time is only 10 seconds for 250MB media.

You don't need an external power supply; the USB interface draws its power from the host device. This means less hassle and greater portability for your storage drive. It is hot plug-and-play compatible (except with Windows NT 4.0) to give you the convenience you need when you're traveling. You can use both 100MB and 250MB Zip disks in this drive.

Each Zip 250 USB drive ships with all the Iomega software you will need to install and use your drive. The software suite is designed to help take advantage of your drive and the information you commit to reliable disks. IomegaWare 2.1 is your drive's core application that allows for quick and convenient access to your files, Iomega drive tools, diagnostic utilities, other Iomega software, Web links, and online help. Iomega 1-Step Backup easily backs up data files from your hard drive to Zip disks. With the Iomega QuikSync software, it's not only easy to back up to Zip or Jaz drives, it's automatic. QuikSync watches a single directory on your hard drive, and when a change is made to files there, a copy is automatically saved to your QuikSync Zip disk. Last but not least, Iomega RecordIt software is the coolest way to record (and play back) voice and music on your computer! Record up to 21 hours of meetings, conferences and music on a single 250MB Zip disk.
