- Supports Ethernet, Frame Relay, PPP, Serial, SLIP TCP/IP Networking
- Data Transfer Speeds up to 115.2KB/s
The versatile PortServer can attach any serial device to your local Ethernet. Ideal for console management of server farms, hubs, routers and PBXs, as well as connecting terminals to database applications such as travel reservations and information services, the PortServer is also a smart solution for kiosk management applications and small ISPs.
The rack-mountable PortServer II high performance communications server includes all of the features of the Digi's PortServer TS plus expandability to 64 ports and extensive network management and security features.
The PortServer TS allows you to connect clusters of 2 to 16 high-speed serial ports to any TCP/IP Ethernet network. It supports asynchronous terminals, modems, printers and other serial devices. The PortServer TS is hardware independent, allowing users to access any type of networked server supporting TCP/IP. In addition, the PortServer II supports dial-up and LAN-to-LAN connections for TCP/IP remote access to your corporate LAN or the Internet over Frame Relay and analog lines. The PortServer II is available in both desktop and rack mount versions. The PortServer is compatible with Sun Sparc servers. No break signal is issued on power cycle, preventing costly server reboots.
Digi's RealPort software enables local serial port functionality as well as incoming and outgoing Rlogin and Telnet sessions per port. Additional included tools configure and monitor serial ports, for greater control of these locally administered, “hardware style” ports. Digi's Port Authority - Remote (DPA-Remote) is a valuable tool for managing the PortServer over your LAN or WAN. DPA-Remote provides live graphing of serial and Ethernet activity plus the ability to see signals on all ports for troubleshooting cable or flow control issues.
