Rated 1 out of 5Â by machouston Inopperable & Uncooperative I have had 3 versions of the HP Scanjet scanner; the present one the 5590. All have been decommissioned because they simply have a terrible computer interface. Be assured, eventually, your computer will not be able to recognize and/or initialize the Scanjet 5590 scanner. I continued to buy HP thinking that HP cannot be that bad. I was wrong. Even the HP Help Line was no help. Don't waist your money. January 11, 2011

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Jack125 HP 5590 Flatbed 2 sided scanner I have always liked HP products I previously purchased for their design, quality and durability. I was disappointed I could not install this product on a Mac Book Pro running Snow Leopard to accomplish two sided scanning, or even reliable scanning at all. The initial installation and download of the latest drivers went OK. The second time I tried scanning several days after the initial install the computer didn't recognize the scanner. Rather than endure the frustration of a reinstall with uncertain outcomes I returned the product in favor of one that came highly recommended by other Mac Book Pro users running Snow Leopard. March 31, 2010
