The compact, lightweight design of the DSMobile 600 allows it to fit on your desktop or be a perfect travel companion. No job is too small or too large - this device provides the versatility to scan media from business card size to 8.5 in. by 14 in. paper size. The unique USB power/data interface draws power directly from your PC and comes with a detachable 6 ft. USB cable. The DSMobile 600 connects to a high-speed USB interface yet consumes only 0.2W of power when in standby mode and a maximum of 2.0W of power when scanning.

One touch of the button on the DSMobile 600 will launch your choice of compatible scanning programs. Make a preferred scanning program your default and that one touch will initiate that program. The Pentax DSMobile 600 comes with everything you need to scan, straight out of the box...including the following Windows software:

DSmobileSCAN allows scanned documents to be automatically saved as Adobe Acrobat format files. An added feature to this software is the ability to initiate a scan from the DSMobile scanner button. PageManager 7 allows a user to scan and organize digitized files with the ability to view, edit, send and save files in many formats. The TWAIN driver allows a user to control all scanner details and settings. A user will have an array of scanning applications to choose from because TWAIN is compatible with any software application that uses TWAIN device input. Rated 3 out of 5Â by Phytergator Could be better Does a nice job of copying but doesn't always feed straight, especially on smaller items like credit card receipts. Too bad you have to manually start the associated program before feeding documents. Would be better if putting document in feed slot automatically invoked the program. Anti-intuitive to have to feed documents face-down. February 16, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Roxyflute5 Decent Little Scanner This scanner's portability is fantastic. However, it is temperamental when scanning photos. The really glossy photos tend to get stuck part way through and you have to scan the photo several times to finally get it right. I have tried cleaning it two or three times just before attempting to scan the photo again and sometimes it resolves the problem, sometimes it does not. No issues with scanning papers or receipts. KEEP GETTING ERROR MESSAGES THAT NOT ALL WAS DOWNLOADED, NEED TO RE-INSTALL, BUT WORK SCANNING ANYWAYS AFTER CLOSING ERRORS WINDOWS, PLUS IT LEAVES LINES IN PICTURES. HAVE CLEAN AS INSTRUCTED AND STILL MAKE LINES IN ALL PHOTOS. January 5, 2013
