Xcel is a dedicated hardware-based SSL co-processor built into the Equalizer E650gx. This purpose-built security accelerator processes over 14,000 SSL transactions per second. Xcel allows the E650gx to take on the high traffic that can bring the most powerful server to its knees. Xcel's custom encryption offload hardware handles the CPU-intensive SSL handshake and encryption process, offering you security acceleration that will meet your need for speed.
GZIP compression is the only completely transparent tool for reducing bandwidth requirements for dynamically generated web application and content delivery. Express gives the E650gx a dedicated hardware engine, purpose-built for compressing HTTP content using GZIP. Express decreases the bandwidth required to deliver HTTP content by a factor of 2 to 6 times, and further cuts latency by reducing the number of packets required to deliver web pages and other content. The capacity and performance return on investment can be instantaneous.
Envoy is the Global Server Load Balancing capability of the E650gx that extends performance and scalability across multiple data centers. Traffic is directed according to business-defined policies that are matched against data center proximity and real-time performance and availability. Envoy allows redundant "Active-Active" failover to be fully supported with a secondary Equalizer so that mission critical resources are always available and operating at peak performance.
Coyote Point's Equalizer E650gx combines load balancing and acceleration in a single appliance. As a complete solution that is easy to install and manage, the E650gx guarantees the fastest return on your investment. The Equalizer's advanced, intuitive management interface includes configuration wizards that lead you through the set-up process for clusters, servers, match rules, and failover configurations. All on-screen objects are interactive. Simple mouse rollover of objects gives you quick and easy graphical views of configuration and status. You will have detailed graphical tracking and performance statistics from any desktop web browser and complete control of application traffic flows.
Equalizer VLB monitors performance metrics via the VMware Infrastructure API combines them with application performance and availability invisible to VMware to optimize load balancing in virtualized environments. Equalizer VLB Advanced offers VLB Smart Control: threshold conditions that trigger VMware events to automate activation and deactivation of virtual server instances. The E650gx is the first appliance to offer real time proactive optimization of virtualized environments.
