Enterprise networks have become more complex with a mixed environment of old legacy systems and new client-server systems. These networks also include telecom systems and web based corporate intranets. The need for power protection in such a complex environment has increased tenfold. As the important of power protection has increased, so has the need for Enterprise Administrators to effectively monitor, configure and manage power resources.
Fortunately, there is a way to manage enterprise networks which will reduce the downtime and anxiety caused by power failures. When using PowerNet, you can quickly and easily identify where the power problem is occurring. Power information is presented clearly, problems analyzed easily and solutions executed quickly, thereby minimizing the impact on network performance.
With PowerNet Manager, you don't have to navigate through the MIB browser or understand MIB variables to control UPSs and manage the power in your worldwide network. PowerNet Manager is a graphical power management application that runs on top of the Enterprise Management console. PowerNet Manager collects UPS/power status information from PowerNet Agents and Adapters and graphically displays that information in a window on your NMS station for fast problem diagnosis. Icons, strip charts and bar graphs make it easy to visually determine UPS and power status at a glance. You can also initiate a shutdown and reboot of the UPS and connected server and internetworking equipment from your PowerNet Manager console.
