Rated 4 out of 5Â by Elder Curtis Great Networking Multi-function Printer 4260X w/FAX added.
After nearly six months of frequent operation, we are very satisfied with this printer/FAX/copier/scanner/et cetera XEROX 4260. Being able to copy a document to USB and attached the PDF created has been a welcome addition to our office capability. The "X" model came without FAX capability, so we added the optional module, which plugged right in to the breakout panel. My only reason for four stars was the challenge of getting the system set up. It's NOT a "plug-n-play" operation. Once we got the "bugs" out of, or INTO our machine, it has been a workhorse! If I needed another multi-function, I'd add a couple of lower drawers for special paper, but the machine does EVERYTHING else!

We had a Workcentre M20 which I loved. It was fast and handled big jobs well. We wanted to get a slightly better machine -- and to be honest this machine cost a little more than I wanted, but we decided to go for it.
It's a good machine. It's very fast, which I love.
Right now there are streaks in the print, which I might be able to solve with detective work, but haven't yet. That's annoying. Maintenance isn't totally obvious.
It's also tricky to hook up to the network. So, while I can SEE it from my computer (it shows up and I can change settings, so I know that it's connected), I can't figure out how to scan directly to the network (or that particular computer). It can't be that hard, but for now, it's easier to just scan to a USB drive and copy the files over. I'm pretty computer literate but have not had time to deal with this issue. Frankly it should be obvious.
So, we like this machine -- and if you had a good IT person or a lot of time to figure out all the details, you might love it.
For us, there are still some glitches that we have not entirely worked out.

the 4260 is a great little multifunctional copier/printer. my office loves it. it's warm up time in the morning is a little slow for my taste, but once it gets going its faster than our workcentre7545.

The company I work for got this machine to replace the one I already had that was working fine for me. (lease) It was to make copies of paperwork that was some 23 pages long. 1st copy, no problem. The 2nd one I put in jammed on the second page. Upon clearing it out and starting again this time the first page jammed. And unlike my old copier that might jam from time to time, this copier would make the jammed pages into accordion pages. (smashed together)
I have worked making copies for 10+ years. I know how to take the staple out of the form I am going to print and to 'break the seal' that the staple caused. I know to make sure the edges of the paper are laying properly.
We even tried to turn the paper around to run it and it still messed up.
This was suppose to be a new machine. A few people have looked at it but it still does not work properly. Getting a different machine. (cross's his fingers)
Lastly.... what it did print was fine and dandy.
