The XP8i access point delivers gigabit performance, security and reliability to meet the growing demand of pervasive Wi-Fi in small to medium organizations. The 802.11ac AP includes a dual-radio design with 2x2 MIMO and 2 spatial streams. With four integrated dual-band antennas, the XP8i has a compact and sleek design.
With two Wi-Fi radios the access point can simultaneously operate in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The AP delivers an aggregate data rate up to 1.2 Gbps, for demanding business applications such as video and voice. A significant benefit to the 802.11ac standard is the ability to provide backward compatibility with previous Wi-Fi standards, preserving your investment in existing equipment. With 802.11ac MIMO, each radio uses multiple antennas to simultaneously transmit and receive packets over a single channel. Support for 2:2 MIMO means improved link quality, reliability and network throughput - enhancing overall WLAN performance. Support for two spatial streams increases the aggregate data rate per client. For example a dual-stream 802.11ac client operating in an 80 MHz channel may achieve almost one Gbps raw data rate. With four internal antennas to operate and blend in to most any indoor environment such as offices, classrooms and public spaces.
